Last weekend I started working on Calvin's scout pants. They were in desparate need of hemming and I had been taking Jennifer Stern's "All Hemmed Up" class on PatternReview.com.
I learned quite a few things in her class and wanted to try some of the techniques as well as use my Ellissimo's blind hem stitch and it's blind hem foot with the adjustable screw on it.
All in all it went well. The stitch and foot on the machine are great. I did figure out that the tension needed to be adjusted or loosened. I turned it down to a tension of 3.2-3.4.

2011--The Year of the Stashbust!!!
Well, 2011 will have a theme in sewing for me this year--The Year of the Stashbust!!!
After determining that I have filled up practically all my available space for fabric storage and that I was sewing just newer fabrics last year, I had to take matters into hand.
I started out the year with 667.75 yards of fabric.
I will be doing my best to end 2011 with less fabric.
I will also endeavor to refrain from buying fabric except to finish stash projects. I would like to buy a little at the expo this year. Aside from that, we'll see how I do on the stashbust!
My goal: 50-100 yards less!!
